The Lincolnshire Chess Association AGM will take place at Church House in Louth on Sunday 9th September at 3pm. It will be preceded by the fixture meeting at 1:30pm. Due to a change in circumstances the simultaneous display by GM Keith Arkell on Sat 11th August has been cancelled.
Lincolnshire reached the Minor Counties final for the third successive year but unfortunately they came up short and narrowly lost 9-7 to Surrey. Full Results

The Lincolnshire County Championships will be held on 21-22 July at The Atrium in North Hykeham, Lincoln. There are 2 sections - Open and U150. Prizes are available for the top 3 places in each section plus grading prizes. An entry form is available to download.
The Lincolnshire team beat Devon 10-6 in the semi final. They are now through to their third successive Minor Counties final which will be against Surrey. Full Results
The minor team beat Norfolk by a score of 9½-6½ in the quarter final. They now progress to the semi final to face Devon. Full Results
The Alf Newman Memorial Quickplay Chess Tournament will take place on Saturday 23rd June at The Woolpack Inn in Louth. The time limit is 25 minutes for each player to complete all their moves. A number of prizes are on offer. An entry form is available to download.
Lincolnshire retain the Midlands County Team Championship with a 10-6 win against Warwickshire. The team now progress to the quarter finals in the national stages. Full Results
Samuel Milson (Louth) scored 3/5 in the open section. There were 2 lincs players in the minor section: Pawel Szutkowski (Spalding) scored 3½/5 and Bill Egan (Scunthorpe) scored 2/5.
Joe Kilshaw (Grimsby) came equal 3rd in the open section with a score of 3½/5 and won £33.34 in prize money. Samuel Milson (Louth) won a grading prize of £5 in the open section with a score of 3/5. The U120 team had a convincing 7½-4½ win over Derbyshire and are now joint top on 6 points. Full Results
The U140 team lost 9-7 to Nottinghamshire in their final match of the season. Although the team weren't able to win any of their matches this season there was never more than a couple of points between the scores. Full Results

Lincolnshire had a convincing win against the current leaders Warwickshire by a score of 7½-4½. They are now equal second on 4 points. Full Results
The minor team had to come from behind to narrowly beat Nottinghamshire by a score of 8½-7½. This makes it 3 wins out of 3 with 1 game left to play. The win also ensures qualification for the national stages. Full Results
The Midland Open Rapid & Blitz will be held on 17-18 February at Holiday Inn Birmingham Walsall, 20 Wolverhampton Road, Walsall, WS2 0BS. There will be four 9-round Rapid sections and a 9-round Blitz tournament. The prize fund for the tournament is £2,680.

Lincolnshire recently played a challenge match in Hull against a team representing East Yorkshire / Hull & District. They won the match 7-6. Full Results

The minor team beat Leicestershire by a score of 9.5-6.5 in their opening match of the season. Full Results
The George Renison Memorial Jamboree with take place at Age UK in Scunthorpe on Saturday 7th October. The jamboree is for teams of four players. Four rounds will be played and the winner will be awarded the George Renison Shield. Entries must be received by Saturday 23rd September. A poster is available to download with further details.
